about

I recently visited a pond that some of my family's ashes were spread years ago. Admittedly it was my first time seeing them since their passing; I'm not the greatest person to be related to. Regardless I felt something while looking at this small body of water surrounded by trees, a light mist, and the setting sun glowing through it all. Maybe it was the ghost of my Grandmother who passed away struggling with Alzheimer's, saying 'who are you?', maybe it was my Uncle who passed away from the inevitable results of years of chain-smoking telling me to get healthy, or perhaps it was just the comforting feeling of one of the many pups that were laid to rest there. Whatever it was, I think the word spiritual is an accurate description. There's something peculiar about a space where people from seemingly unrelated existences all gather for the same purpose, to lay a beloved one to rest. This album is a collection of droning melodies that represent the passing of time, the inevitable path of flesh, the missed connections, the soft loving moments, the hypnotic nature of routine-based existence, and the great unknown.
